Horizon

Well there we have it.

The new front page is live! Check it out at http://www.projectsidewalk.com. Keep an eye out for a redesign here on the blog as well.

I have a handful of projects ready for the new year, as well as a new camera to help with them all, so be sure to check back soon. 2008 was a bit rocky, but despite the lack of updates, I’ve been growing many ideas as the days have gone by.

2009 is going to be an exciting year.

If you’re interested in fairly more regular updates, I’d like to send you over to a good friend who keeps me inspired: http://ashlystewart.blogspot.com/

See you all soon.

New Front Page! (soon)

Stuck in a creative slow down, I decided that I needed to change my environment. Not just a temporary change like a walk or a coffee shop, but instead a change to the place I do most of my work.

What was supposed to be a short rearrangement of my room turned into a seven hour journey through old notebooks, discarded papers, and forgotten ideas.

By the time five AM rolled around, however, I had a new set up and fairly organized documents.

I decided not only to change my physical space, but also my digital space. I’m currently working on a new look for the site which should hopefully be finished by the wee hours of the morning.

Wish me luck.

Rejected Valentine’s Cards: For Sale!

After a large amount of requests, I’ve decided to sell the Rejected Valentine’s Cards. Within the next day or so you’ll be able to purchase hand made high quality cards on a per card basis. There will also be new cards for all sorts of occasions.

Also, if you so choose, you can buy the pack of the 21 one-of-a-kind original cards on ebay.

The Forum: We Make Things

HEY YOU!

Now that I have your attention, I’d like to direct it elsewhere.

We’re always looking to expand what I think to be our most exciting project, The Forum.

What is the Project Sidewalk Forum?

The Forum is a canvas for the imagination.

It’s a community of writers, artists, and thinkers working to create a revolution in storytelling, art, and entertainment.

It’s a communal and collaborative exchange of ideas, which in turn nourishes new creations.

Although everyone has the potential to be creative these talents often go unused. Why? Because raw creativity can be a scary thing. It requires letting go of certainties, conquering fears of failure and, most importantly, the actual act of creation.

We at Project Sidewalk believe that all you need to do to be creative is to play.

In a culture where media and advertising are meant to turn us into the perfect consumer (i.e. bored, dissatisfied, and ugly), Project Sidewalk seeks to create an online and offline universe where being imaginative, happy, and beautiful is a revolutionary act. There is a chance to become something more than just the viewer. Here you can reclaim public space, reignite imagination, and recontextualize the way we see and interact with our world.

Why does such a place need to exist? Because it’s fun to be creative. Because it’d be fun to stop buying things and start making things. Because we need to play.

Creativity in a community setting allows us to not only reach out and touch someone, but to find each other.

You’ll find a variety of projects here. Many of these projects revolve around storytelling and most involve a collaborative effort from the community. Those who wish to participate can contribute and help the projects grow.

But of course that’s only a fraction of what Project Sidewalk really is.

The rest you’ll have to experience for yourself.

We’d love to see you stop by.

Hi Digg!

Please excuse the mess, I wasn’t expecting company this soon.

Looking Up

Finally added some things to flickr. Two nights ago I walked out of a store and saw one of the most amazing looking skies I’ve ever seen.

Perfect example of why I take my camera with me anywhere.

You can find the pictures on my flickr page here.
